BLITZ KIDS formed in August 2006 under the guise RIG UP EXPLOSIVE. In August 2009 the band changed their name to BLITZ KIDS. BLITZ KIDS hail from Crewe & Nantwich and make ‘white-knuckle alt-rock’ that encourages you to take leave of your senses. They are known for their passionate live performances and DIY ethic. 2009 saw them tour the UK toilet circuit relentlessly, building up a strong, dedicated fan-base in every town and port. In 2010 they went on the Atticus Black tour, played Sonisphere, T in the Park, Hevy Festival & Guilfest. In August they recorded their debut album in under 48 hours at Red Bull studios, London. All tracks were recorded live without auto- tune or clicks. It is due for release in mid-2011. BLITZ KIDS are set for a busy year with the band kick-starting 2011 by opening for ESCAPE THE FATE in January on 2 sold out Islington Academy dates. They supported WE ARE THE OCEAN on their short stint of UK dates in February and D.R.U.G.S. on their UK tour in March. In May they supported MAYDAY PARADE on all of their UK dates, played Slam Dunk Festival’s Kerrang! Introducing stage and got nominated for Best British Newcomer at the Kerrang! Awards.
