  1. The band was formed by Jerry Jones (vocals), John
Ferrara (guitar), Mike Schipper (guitar) and Joshua Z
Weinstein (bass) in 2002. Brian Ferrara (drums) was
filling-in for Trophy Scars at the time; he was only
twelve years old. Soon after, Brian was added as the
permanent drummer. Trophy Scars utilizes a wide variety of musical genres and non-traditional song
structures in their sound. Influences have been said
to range from The Beatles to Aesop Rock, from Converge to Tom Waits. The entire Trophy Scars song catalog is embossed by major themes such as
time, memory, language, and romantic tragedy.
Known for their intimate shows and independent
booking techniques, Trophy Scars evokes a strong
DIY regiment. Trophy Scars signed to the Death Scene Recording
Company in 2005 and in the UK with Small Town
Records in 2007. Since 2002, Trophy Scars have
released three full length records, two EPs, a single,
and a compilation of demos and unreleased
material. They released their latest full length, “Bad Luck”, without a record label on March 17, 2009.
Trophy Scars released a split 7” vinyl recording with
the Saddest Landscape in November, 2009. The 7”
record features the song, “August, 1980”. In
January 2010, “Bad Luck” was named the 10th best
album of 2009 by popular music critic website, Sputnik Music. Trophy Scars finished recording their upcoming EP,
titled “Darkness, Oh Hell”, with longtime
collaborator / producer Chris Badami on March 12,
2010. The new material is described as “dark and
whacky”. A full length is expected to follow shortly.
There has been no mention of whether or not the EP will be released by a record label or when it is
    scheduled to be released.
