A Casual Affair formed in 2009 with founding members Dane Larson(Vocals), Jeremy Coleson(Guitar/Vocals), Colton Cihla(Bass), Sean Prior(Guitar) and Tyler Coleson(Drums).
ReplyDeleteBy the end of 2009 ACA began to build a very strong local fanbase in the Cedar Rapids/Iowa City music scene. In 2010 we were fortunate enough to share the stage as an opening act with bands such as Oceano, Chiodos, Bullet for my Valentine, Renae, Destruction of a Rose, Kills and Thrills, Take it Back,
and many more!
In the summer of 2010, Andrew Wood joined the band as the keyboard/Synth player after parting ways as the drummer for Kidnap the Sun. However, his role as keyboardist was short lived, as vocalist Dane Larson decided that he wanted to pursue his college career. Originally a temporary vocalist, Andrew became ACA's official frontman in late September.
As of January 26th 2011, Our debut EP titled "I Appreciate Your Honesty, Honestly" is available on Itunes, Zune, Amazon, Napster, and more. In March of 2011 we hit the studio once again to record our follow-up full length concept album, "The Further", which will be released August 13th, 2011.
On August 4th, ACA had the opportunity, thanks to the Ernie Ball Battle of the Bands, to play the Ernie Ball Stage at Vans Warped tour in Council Bluffs, Iowa. In addition they will be touring the Midwest in late August with their brother bands Kidnap the Sun.
We have no intentions of ever slowing down, or giving up. Music is our passion, as well as our dream. We have the best support that any band could ever ask for, and that comes from the bottom of our hearts. We always say that even if only one person enjoys our songs, then its all worth it. ACA is not in this for glory or fame...we just want to do what we love and share it with the rest of the world.
