  1. BARRELBRIGHT is taking the modern rock world by storm, one show at a time. Not surprising, either, considering what kind of talent, work ethic and kindred spirit it’s five members share. With nearly ten years spent working together, former WHEN IT RAINS drummer, Nick Engle, and guitarist, Brazzle, found themselves wondering if their mutual time and effort spent had been for naught, after their singer Chris Schlicting, was offered a spot int he mid-west powerhouse, SEASONS AFTER. “It was like a shot in the gut, because finding a singer like him in the middle of nowhere would’ve been like lightning that struck the same place twice. We broke up but Nick and I couldn’t put it down,” say Brad “Brazzle” Heagler. “We kept writing new material and eventually… lightning did hit us.”

The proverbial lightning hit when Brazzle ran across former ALIEN8 vocalist, James Dean. James was at the top of the list for EVANS BLUE to replace their former frontman, when he spent an afternoon with Brazzle and Nick. “It was so surreal. I had just gotten a passport to Canada to go do a live tryout for the biggest opportunity of my life, and these two guys from my hometown played for fifteen minutes. That’s all it took.”

Less than a year later, and with the permanent addition of brutal lead guitarist, Chuck Nusser and the equally brutal… but ridiculously beautiful… Geneva Arena on bass, these five mid-western rockers have found themselves not only getting to play music they love for audiences big and small, but recording their first full-length album. Entitled “WELCOME TO THE NEW WEST”, the ten-track debut is scheduled for release by the summer of 2010, along with a full-length color comic book.
