  1. Hey! Alaska started because of friends passion for music, and their passion to go beyond genres and stereotypes when writing music. They play a unique mix of pop punk, hardcore and rock, which can be as fun as New Found Glory or as gritty as Parkway Drive. Over the past two years Hey! Alaska (formerly known as The Scarlet Desire) have been playing hundreds of shows all over the UK with bands such as You me At Six, Mayday Parade, Madina Lake, Flood Of Red, Poison The Well, A Loss For Words, We Are The Ocean , Frank Turner, The Ghost Of A Thousand, Kids In Glass Houses and Many more they also have upcoming shows with the likes of The Blackout, Young Guns, Futures, Bury Tomorrow, I Set My Friends On Fire, Evergreen Terrace & Azriel.

Early in 2010 they won a competion ran by Atticus Clothing to open for Madina Lake, We Are The Ocean & Mayday Parade at Nottingham, Rock City. This was a huge show for Hey! Alaska as since then they have had masses of feedback from Kids who watched them play and hopefuly this will be the same all over the UK. In September 2009 Hey! Alaska headed to Surrey to record their first cd, which turned out to be their debut EP ‘The Colour, The Shade’ with renowned producer Matty O’Grady who has worked in the past with artists such as You Me At Six (Hold me Down, Epitaph records, 2010) and Deaf Havana (Meet Me Half Way, At Least, A Wolf At Your Door Records, 2009).
